In the Spring of 2007, The University of Arkansas Bass Team was founded by Matthew Ridgway. That spring the team hosted their first Invitational Tournament and won the Arkansas Tech Invitational, one of the largest intercollegiate bass tournaments. Today, the team competes in qualifying events in Oklahoma and Arkansas to see who gets to go to the two National Championship events.

FAQ's What kind of boat do I need? Well, a bass boat is preferred, but a few members fish out of flat bottoms. Bay boats, Fish/ski's, or any non-cumbersome craft will work for qualifying events. Do I need a partner? You do not necessarily need one, but it is to your great advantage to have one. How do I join? Membership is open to any student at the University of Arkansas. Membership dues are set yearly by the Officers. In addition, there is also some paperwork you must fill out before competing in club activities. How often do you have Qualifiers? We try to have them about 3 times a semester. About once a month, check out the schedule page. Can I compete in other events? Schools like Arkansas Tech, Stephen F. Austin, Virginia Tech, and Oklahoma University host invitational tournaments throughout the year and we try to send as many teams as possible to each event. We ask that you compete in at least one invitational before going to one of these events.
Graves' Tackle Tip of the Week; Fall bassin' can be very productive. Just ask me, I know. When I retreat to the lake in the fall I like to mix it up. Shakey heads and spoons can been seen on the deck of my boat this time of year. I like to add two flukes to the tip of my spoon to make it more life like. Tune in next week for more helpful tips.
